New possibilities for action must be acquired, or "invented".
Simply pushing thoughts together is insufficient. The result must not be limited to the smallest common denominator.
Possibilities must be broadened when momentum for change is wanted.
The goals and intentions of management create the starting point of the process.
We take them on with the knowledge that these goals and intentions are allowed to change during the process, in favor of new perceptions and concepts for action.
New concepts, some of which develop over the course of the process, must be accepted by the participants.
It is seldom sufficient that new concepts be seen as reasonable. They must offer the participants opportunities or protection from potential danger. Only then can they prevail over the status quo: over established positions, entrenched routines and rooted patterns of thought and action.
